About Tongue & Cheek Care
Tongue & Cheek Care is founded by Nikki Arn practicing in the dental field for 25 years. I have enjoyed all aspects of teaching dental assisting at a local technical college and practicing hygiene in general dentistry and a children’s practice.
Over the years I have observed patients receiving conventional treatment for issues such as grinding, ortho relapse and sleep apnea/snoring to name a few. While symptoms are treated, the root problems were not addressed.
My daughter’s ortho relapse is what opened my eyes. Her teeth were perfect after ortho but a few years later her teeth started to shift, her bite was off, and her jaw started to hurt. Looking for the reason why, I discovered a slight restricted tongue tie causing improper swallowing and pushing on the teeth. Digging deeper, I discovered Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) would address this issue and many other problems seen over the years. Enrolling with Myofunctional Therapy Training Academy allowed me to offer this therapy to help others achieve their optimum health.
